The following 1891 article shows that the 1850 Treaty was utilized over time by the Hawaiian Kingdom which assisted in charging and apprehending criminals utilizing Article XIV.  

The use of Article XIV since 1850 continues even today with our Tribunal currently in place.:

The following Hawaii printed article shows the American attitude in 1891, prior to dethroning Hawaii's Queen Liliuokalani.  


The following article shows an example of the kind of weaponry that were being prepared by the U.S. for use in the Pacific.  The ship was labeled Cruiser No. 6.


Background:

The BOSTON entered Hawaiian waters directed by Congress, et. als. in 1892 or a year after this article was posted.  The CHICAGO looking very similar was also being prepared by the U.S. at the time.  See below:
